4 Ways Technology Has Made Us Awesomely Lazy

Life is such a difficult thing. It’s hard to find enough energy to take care of everything. But lucky for us, technology has made it easier on us. Here are a couple of ways technology has made us awesomely lazy.

Online shopping

Oh, the joys of online shopping are wonderful. You get to stay in your cozy abode while perusing the greatest shops around the world. To make me feel good about myself, vendors put up great online sales. And to make me feel even better than that? They’ll sometimes give me free shipping. How awesome is that? Now that I don’t have to waste gas money driving around, I’m gonna go ahead and splurge a bit. You wouldn’t believe how many useless gadgets I have from frivolous spending. Sites like This is Why I’m Broke and good ol’ Amazon have ruined me and my wallet. The worse thing about online shopping is having to move the actual package into my house. But lucky for me…

This app can take care of my package problem for me. I can hire people to do menial tasks for me. Grocery shopping? No problem. Returns and exchanges? Easy. Furniture assembly? Piece of cake. Bringing me my package? No sweat. And don’t worry, all of the people you hire go through a background check. All you have to do is fork over a little money and they’ll take care of everything for you. Being lazy has never felt so good or been so easy. And if someone tries calling you out on it, just tell them that you’re giving people jobs during this economically tough time. That should be a clean getaway for you.

Home automation

Now you’re probably wondering, “Once TaskRabbit does deliver my stuff, who will open the front door for me to let them in?” Don’t worry, I’ve found a way. You can keep sitting on your couch because home automation apps have got you covered. Apps like the one from Alarm.com are mainly used for home security systems, but it can also help you become lazier. It allows you to control your entire home from your phone. You can control your thermostat, turn appliances on and off, and even arm or disarm your security system. Most importantly, you can lock and unlock your door with this app. So if you’re ever expecting a visitor, you can let them in without getting up. If someone knocks at your door unexpectedly, don’t worry. You can just access your surveillance cameras with your phone to see who’s rudely interrupting your lazy time.

Couch Surfin’

Finally. You’ve done all of the shopping you needed to do and had it put right in your home. After a long and hard day of work, it’s time to relax. And this relaxing time has increasingly gotten lazier throughout the years. As a kid, I didn’t think couch surfin’ could get easier than what it was. Boy, was I wrong. Turn on everything without leaving the sofa. Play games, listen to music, watch movies, surf the internet, and do everything all from the comfort of your couch. And to save you some trouble, you can just fall asleep on the couch when it’s time for you to crash. We all know that couches are more comfortable than beds after you’ve invested a couple of hours sitting on them.
